ETOWAH COUNTY. Gadsden Times: A horse belonging to Sam Forman slipped on the ice near the falls of Black creek Saturday and broke its neck. We learn from some of the oldest far- mers in the country that the wheat and oat erops are not injured seriously by the severe weather, It is to be hoped that we will have good crops of allkinds this year. Col. B. F. Pope returned home last Friday from Columbus, Miss., with his son, W. B. Pope, who was shot in the breast recently by a negro. We are glad to see Burrell able to - be on the street. The negro was lynched. At a temperance meeting on the 14th inst., delegates were appointed to at- tend the State Convention at Tuscaloosa. The following resolution, offered by A. L.
