The bodies of two negroes, Dave and Jerry Brown, both shot to death, were found lying beside a road a mile from Elrod. Ernest Elledge, Jr., of Elrod, was arrested and brought to Tusca- loosa by deputy sheriffs, who said he admitted slaying the negroes, claim- ing he acted in self defense.
