Two Negroes Are Lynched; One Missing (Associated Press) Ala., Aug. 13. Three negroes who were being removed from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham for safe keeping on charges of slaying a 21 year old white girl early today were taken from officers by armed men and two of them were later found shot to death near Blockton 20 miles west of Birmingham. No trace was found of the third negro despite n search by peace officers of three counties- Removal followed Increasing rumors that attacks would be made on the jail to take the negroes: Dan Plppen, jr., 18, Elmore Clark, 28, and A. T. Harden, 16, who were under indictment in the slaying of Miss Vaudine Maddox in rural Tuscaloosa several weeks ago.
