Transcript: The preliminary trials of C. F. Moody and Kirby Bush, the two white men who shot and killed a negro near Brookwood several days ago was held before Justice of the Peace James Foster today. The evidence submitted at the trial today tended to show that the negro was drinking and had shot another negro earlier in the day. Bush and Moody attempted to keep the negro from causing any more trouble when the two men shot him. Bail was fixed at $500 and they were bound over to await the action of the grand jury on a charge of murder.
