GRACE LUMPKIN, born in Sc. Carolina (and at present a member of the National Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners' group investigating the lynching of Dan Pippen, Jr., and A. T. Har- den, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.) Miss Lumpkin is the author of the novel "To Make My Bread," which was the recipient of the International Gorky Prize for Literature when it was issued last season.
