FOUR NEGROES LYNCHED. Taken From an Alabama Jail and Hanged by a Mob. Montgomery, Ala., June 17.-There were five negroes taken out of jail at Wetumpka last night instead of three. The troops got there too late to prevent the jail doors being broken open, However, they followed the mob into the country and are hunting for the prisoners. It is reported the mob has them hidden out It is also stated that the sixth negro has been implicated and arrested. The mob is trying to find\the money stolen and buried before lynch- ing the prisoners. Leading citizens, it is also stated, are interceding with the mob to prevent the lynching and secure the return of the prisoners to jail. Later reports from Wetumpka say four of the prisoners taken from jail were lynched at a point 10 miles from Wetumpka and three miles from the scene of the crime. The four were/Sol Jackson, Lewis Spier, Jesse Thompson and Camp Reese. The troops from here did not succeed in locating the prisoners, as the country is hilly and rough and wooded.
