Sentence of Lynchers Affirmed. The case of the State vs. Josephus Jowers and John Edwards from the circuit court of Elmore county, has been affirmed by the supreme court of Georgia. This is the case in which the two defendants and six or eight other white men went to the house of a defenseless negro in Elmore county at midnight last year, and, taking him into the woods, whipped him unmercifully, and finally shot and killed him.
