WHITE CAPPERS JAILED. THE MURDERERS OF RUFUS SWINDLER CARRIED TO MONTGOMERY. MONTGOMERY, Ala., April 3 - -Tonight Sheriff Sedbury and deputies, of Elmore county, brought Josephus and Will Joeli, John Morgan, John Edwards, Jr, and Alonzo Edwards, Luther Ingram and C. M Kuchen, charged with murder, to this city for safe keeping. They are charged with the murder of Rufus Swindler near Wetumpka last week. Yesterday one of the number, after being arrested, confessed that they formed a band and entered into a compact to kill Swindler, whom they were afraid would inform officers of their practice of making illicit whisky. They are white cappers and went to Swindler's house at night, beat him and his wife, dragged him from his bed and shot him. They had their faces blacked. John Edwards came to Wetumpka to employ counsel for those arrested and was locked up himself.
