Transcript: SHOT WHILE GUARDING BARN R. A. Stillwell, Elmore, Ala., Planter, Victim of Assassin. MONTGOMERY, Ala., Dec. 31.-R. A. Stillwell, a planter at Elmore, Ala., was shot and killed early this morning while guarding his barn, which had been robbed by negroes many times lately. Bloodhounds secured a good scent and a posse is now scouring the surrounding country.
