. No Indictments Found The Lowndes County Grand Jury adjourned a special session, Tuesday afternoon without returning a true bill against citizens who had beer charged with being members of a party which lynched Will Jones a ne gro, sometime ago. The special session of the grand jury was ordered by Governor O'neal and a reported that no indictments were returned was made to the chief executive Tuesday afternoon. Several prominent citizens of Lowndes Count were reported to have been under investigation, but the action of the grand jury in adjourning without returning true bills probably brings the investigation of the lynching a close. Jones was lynched on December 18, after he had been arrested on a charge of entering a room and at tacking a Fort Deposit school girl. The negro was lynched in the daytime, and no masks were worn by the lynchers.
