Details Of Jail Death Going To Grand Jury The Elmore County grand jury will convene at Wetumpka on Jan. 10, Circuit Court Officials said Friday. Members of the jury will hear reports on a country-wide investigation into circumstances surrounding the Nov. 20 death of James Earl Motley, 27-year-old Montgomery Negro whose body was found in a cell in the Elmore County Jail. Elmore County District Attorney Upshaw G. Jones said his investigation into the incident is continuing and that results will be presented to the grand jury. Dr. Joseph R. Benson, county coroner, is still investigating the case, Jones said. his findings also will be presented to the grand jury.
