Birmingham June 3.- It is reported here to-day that a strange negro attempted a criminal assault upon Mrs. Crawford at Blocton last night; that early last night he went to her house and finding Mrs. Crawford alone, assaulted her, but her loud cries brought friends, who pursued the negro caught him, and with the assistance of others, lynched him a few yards from the house.
