IS HE DEAD? Rumor of Another Lynching at Jeff. DENIAL FOLLOWS Bat the Sabject of the Report, It Is Slid, Has Not Been Seen Since Last Mocda?. INQUEST OYER THE DEAD GIRLS Special to the Birmingham News. Huntsville, Ala., May 13. There was a wild rumor this morning that Jim Nance, a negro man suiiposed to be implicated In the Kelly poisoning, had been caught and shot to death. The rumor is tlenitd by parties who have just arrived from Jeff. However, Nanee in-, not been seen since Monday, and may have been put out of the w ay. An inquest was held yesterday afternoon over the dead bodies of Mandy Franks and Moilio Smith, the negro women who were ljucluil Tn-sday right at Jeff, Ala., and the Coroner's jury promptly returned a verdict that the dm ased came to their death at the hands of parties unknown. Sheriff Oscar Fuigham has returned from the scene of the lynching, and has been unable to obtain any clew to tlie id ntity of the mob.
