Alex Hill was wanted for murder in Bibb County. Captured on the K. C. M. & H. railroad near Samaria Church three miles East of Jasper. Armed with a “dangerous” looking pistol at the time of his capture. Confessed without being asked, but said the killing of the women was an accident. He intended to kill Mr. Hubbard. Stated his brother should not have been killed because he had nothing to do with the crime. Went to Mr. Hubbards for the $5 he owed him, but Mr. Hubbard would not take it back. Section Forman Austin S. Latham had a short conversation with Alex Hill before capturing him. Will Hill was there during the murder of Hester Hubbard. He was lynched by a posse and shot first by Mr. Hubbard. Alex was captured between 7 and 8 in the morning. They brought him to Cordova and then Jasper to Sheriff O'Rear before noon.
