Biography
On January 22, 1919, Festus Crummie, also known as Harry, 22, was lynched in Holt, Alabama, by a white mob of unknown size after being accused of trying to declare himself as an equal to the white women in the town. He enlisted in the military on April 15, 1917, and was discharged on January 4, 1919. He was the son of Andrew and Christine Crummie, and brother to sisters Emma, and Velma (Bama), and brothers Andrew, Paul, Silas, and Israel, among others, names unknown.
