PLUM SEASON SOON OPENS Getting Busy for The Fruit in Both State and National Administrations SELMIAN MAY GET PLACE - From all information obtainable the political pie hunters are not only getting after the lucious plum pies in the national matters, but they are also getting a line on state matters which, if they are successful, will lead to the Capitol at Montgomery. "Madam Rumor," is always uncertain in the information she deals out but there is always more or less interest attached to rumors of this kind. Of course it is tolerably well understood that very little attention will be shown to this county in the make-up of the next adminstration force. However, if the Madame who carries advance news is correct one Selmian is to be given a pretty good job under the 'O'Neal administration. It was reported on the streets today that Mr. Theo Lacy, now circuit clerk, and recently county chairman of the Campaign Committee, would be given the position of secretary to the State Convict Board. It is further given out by the same authority that Sheriff James G.Oakley, of Bibb county, is to be the next president of the Board. This place is now held by J. Craig Smith, Both these are very nice plums and pay good salaries. Mr. Lacy is not in the city today and an effort to see him and get the rumor either confirmed or denied failed. However, if Mr. Lacy is out after the place, he has hundreds of friends in the city who will be glad to see him appointed to that responsible position.
