MRS. CROWE NOT INVOLVED- MRS. HORNE IS THE WOMAN FOR ASSAULTING WHOM THE NEGRO RICHARDSON WAS LYNCHED. CENTREVILLE. ALA., Nov. 1 In a special from Centrevllle to the Montgomery Advertiser of date October 13, 1910, giving an account of the lynching of Grant Richardson, a negro, it was stated that a white woman by the name of Mrs. Crowe had several months before that time given birth to a child whose color was so dark as to excite suspicion that the father of the child was a negro. In the name of the woman there was error, as the woman in question is a Mrs. Horne and not Mrs. Crowe. The Mrs. Crowe living near Braehead, Ala., is a woman of good character. Mrs. Crowe, some weeks before Grant Richardson was lynched, accused Lewis' Cash, a negro, of assaulting her with criminal intent, but she was in no way connected with the lynching of Grant Richardson.
