Autopsy Report Awaited In Ala. Negro's Death WETUMPKA, Ala., Nov. 22 (AP)-Elmore County authori- ties awaited word today on the results of an autopsy per- formed upon a 27-year-old Ne- gro whose body was carried from the county jail Sunday. Companions of James Earl Motley told newsmen that he had been beaten by a deputy sheriff when he refused to accompany the officer after being arrested Sunday on charges of highway drunken- ness. Sheriff Lester . Holley said state toxicologists are per- forming the autopsy and "when I have the report, everyone will know it; I'll rc- lease it to the papers."
