As Elbert Moore, a most promising young man living near North Port, was riding in company with a few companions in the vicinity of Carthage, searching for the negro murderers of young Findley, the gun of one of those riding on horseback behind him accidentally went off, lodging the contents of the barrel in one of his legs, and shattering it terribly. Surgical aid was not procured till gangrene set in. He was brought to his father's house on Saturday, the 24th ult. and his leg was amputated above the knee. He expired the same day- Young Moore was scarcely twenty years of age. Thus, in the short space of five days, two white men and treble that number of negroes have been killed; all resulting from the horrible deed perpetrated by a gang of negroes on the 20th ult.
