On June 23 (Monday), 1919 A special Session of the Bibb County Grand jury was called to investigate the lynching of Jim Mcmillan. He was put to death by a mob in Woodstock by being forced to stand on a stump and "riddled his body with bullets." Judge Miller of the Circuit court spoke to the jury briefly. He stated that lynching was savagry and urged the members to do their duty no matter the people involved. Five men are in jail for the murder.
