UNKNOWN BROKE INTO JAIL
AND CARRIED OFF NEGRO

Monroe, La., July 25. An unidenti
fied man broke into the city Jail here
today and carried off Laura Porter, a
negro woman prisoner, and keeper of
a resort where white men are report
ed to have been robbed on several oc
casions. It is generally believed she
was thrown into the Ouchita river and
drowned.
