On March 25, 1928, Jerry Brown, about 48 years old, was lynched outside of Elrod, Tuscaloosa, Alabama by two white men in an automobile after he was accused of threatening the father of one of the men. Jerry Brown was a farm hand. He and Dave Brown, were murdered together by the white assailant. He was the husband of Mattie Brown.
