Riddled With Bullets. The Atlanta Constitution (1881-1945): Dec 28. 1889: ProQuest Historical Newspapers: The Atlanta Constitution pg. I Riddled with Bullets. BIRMINGHAM, Ala., December 27.-[Special.] Bud Wilson, a negro, was lynched in Fayette county, Alabama, about ten days ago, but the fact did not leak out until today, It is believed the officers who had the negro in charge were in sympathy with the lynching party. A few days before the lynching. Wilson attempted to outrage Mrs, James Fowler, a white woman, whom he found alone at her home. He was captured, and officers started with him to the county Jail. A party of white men took the negro, hung him to a tree and riddled his body with bullets. Reproduced with permission of the copyright owner. Further reproduction prohibited without permission.
