KILLED WIFE'S ASSAILANT. John Thomas Meets Death at the Hands of a White Citizen. TUSCALOOSA, ALA, August 23.-John Thomas, a negro, was shot and instantly killed today by C. H. Stallworth, a prominent citizen of this section. Thomas entered the room of Mrs. Stallworth, choked her Insensible and attempted to assault her, but was frightened away. Stallworth has since done nothing but hunt for Thomas. No arrest has been made.
