- INNOCENT MAN SHOT AND INSTANTLY KILLED Special to The Journal. Tuscaloosa, Ala., Dec. 5.-Ben Knox was shot and instantly killed by Tossie King, who had been authorized to arrest Knox for the alleged killing of Deputy Sheriff Dismukes at Artesia, Miss. Knox was innocent.
