Frank Richardson, the negro condemned to hang for the killing of Brown Morton, a member of the posse which was in pursuit of Richardson, who had just killed former deputy sheriff, Tom Cooper, has been granted a reprieve of sixty days by the governor. During that time the state pardoning board is expected-to take up Richardson's case at the request of a number of Tuscaloosa's leading citizens. Owing to the particular condition of the killing of Tom Cooper, it is said the sentence may be changed.
