- Last Friday morning near Big Sandy bridge, Tuskaloosa county, General Norwood, a negro living here, was killed by deputy sheriff, Will Honey, of Tuskaloosa county. The negro resisted arrest, whereupon the officer fired twice upon him, one shot taking effect in the hand, the other in the head. General was said to be a negro of bad repute. The negroes, as they ever do in such cases, refused to lend any aid in disposing of the body, the white people interring it in the afternoon.
