Three Negroes Legally Hanged. MONTGOMERY, Ala., Jan. 25.-At Eutaw, Ala., a negro, named James Seames, was hanged to-day, for the murder of Deputy Sheriff Autrey, of Tuscaloosa, about six months ago. He was calm, and died in mineteen minutes. ATLANTA, Ga., Jan. 25.-Ed Fry, alias Ed Williams, colored, was hanged in Marietta at noon to-day, for the murder of his wife. ELLAVILLF, Ga., Jan. 25.-Charles Black- man, colored, was hanged here to-day in the presence of an immense erowd for the mur- der of Stonewall Tondee, white, in 1885. Blackman is supposed to have killed Tondee because the latter was too intimate with his wife. Blackman had been convicted of the murder three times, and each time his lawyer had secured a new trial. The people of Schley county were so afraid Governor Gordon would interfere and stay Black- man's execution that the telegraph wires were cut in order to prevent the transmis- sion of a message from Atlanta, the State capital.
