- A Rapist Mobbed. BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 10.-A special to the News from Tuscaloosa says that Trigg's store was the place of killing of the negro Wash Bell by a posse of white men. Bell had been arrested for wife beating and was asleep in a room above the store with Officer Cunningham. About midnight before the day of his trial the posse broke into the store and shot Bell to death and fled before they could be recognized. It develops that Bell seduced a white girl near the place of his death.
