- Witness before my trial at Selma. He still associates with negroes and negresses- especially; whilst pretending to despise them when accidentally he finds himself in the society of white men. This fellow is now a candidate before the piebald Legislature for Senatorial honors! And we may look forward to soon hear of his being sent to Washington or another h- of a place, along with his equally contemptible colleague, Geo. E. Spencer. This brace of whelps, being notorious as the most consum- mate rascals, will make the best run for Congress. The latter has run before, whilst in the, Yankee army, and when pursued by Roddy's scouts.- Have had no view of Judge Whelan, as yet. Hear that he is still discountenanced. He seems to be one of the quiet sort of political nuisances. There be some who aver, that Duskin would fain mount the stool of repentance, as he has failed to reach the Loyal-League loaves, and to catch the Radical fishes. Poor renegade! He looks like an enormous half- weaned calf, peering around for political pap. Two more skunks, named, one Holly and one Jones, make up the disgusting squad. These latter are such low-down white niggers, that a further notice of them would be sickening. There are a few fellows "on the fence," but it is not my province to jerk them off.
