- Resolved, That primary election be held in each beat in the county for the purpose of selecting delegates to the county convention to be held at the court house in Wetumpka. Ala., on the 29th day of May. 1900, for the purpose of nominating county candidates and for electing executive committee. Said primary elections to be held on Saturday. the 26th day of May 1900, and that the primary poll shall open at the hour of two o'clock p. m., on said day and close at 5 o'clock p. m., provided that in beats 3. 8 and 18 that the primary polls shall open at 10 o'clock a. m., of said day and close at 5 m., and that all polls shall stay open continuously from time of opening to time of closing. Dr. O.S. Justice thereupon offered the following resolution as to qualification of voters which was also adopted: Resolved, That all white voters of the county be and are hereby invited to participate in the primaries on the 26th inst. The following named gentlemen were selected by the committee to act as managers of the primary: Beat 1. II D Melton, J W Bate- man, W H Holley, R M Jordan. Beat 2. J E Jones, B. Horns- by, J B Lane. T J McDonald. Beat 3. W G Cox, G D Patter- son, Josh J Garrett, D B Ray. Beat 4. G W Turner, E Welch, W T Ward. W L McCain.
