- FIVE NEGROES LYNCHED, Were Accused of Murdering Three, BALSTIM, Alabama People., dear, MONTGOMERY, Ala.,, five men who murdered Mr. Califord, 080m, his wife and an old man named Garlee, last week near Wetumpka WAYS bruched, at 9 o'clock today. Last, Johnson received a message from . the, sheriff that a mob was assembling, and he, feared that his prisoners would be taken, from him, and he asked for troops., The Governor soon got together about, 90 men of the local military company, and sent them to Wetumpka on a special, train. Before they reached there, how-, ever, the mob captured the prisoners, five, in number, and took them to the scene, of the murders, and one of them told, where he had hid the monoy. He was, compelled to find it, and in a few minutes,, near the scene of the crime, all five were, strung up, and their bodies riddled with, bullets., The militia were unable to follow the, mob last night, as they were all mounted, and no means of conveyance were at, hand to take the soldiers after them., This morning efforts were made to find, the negroes, and at about 11 o'clock news, came over the telephone from Wetumpka, that they had been found swinging from a, limb. Their names are not known.
