WHITE MEN KILL NEGRO NEAR LOCK 17 MONDAY Will Moss, It Is Alleged, Opened Fire With Revolver First. Special to The Birmingham News. TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Dec. 26.-Joe Morgan and Sam Bush, two white men, from Lock 17, are in jail here charged with killing a negro, Will Moss. It seems that the negro wanted to use a small row boat belonging to the white men. They warned him not to use the boat. When they went to make the negro leave the boat, he began shooting, firing, it is said, at the white men twelve times. Bush secured a shot gun, and shot the negro's arm off, disabling him, and Morgan shot and killed him. Morgan and Bush were brought here late yesterday by Deputy Sheriff P. G. Wilson and placed in jail. They will be given preliminary trial before Justice John G. Brady today or tomorrow.
