- CRIME IN ELMORE. Elmore County comes with a reported crime. Mr. Hill Jordan met three negroes in the public road-a father and two sons. He spoke to one of them about a debt the latter owed him. The negro said, he would attend to that later. All parties then moved on, and as soon as the negroes passed, they turned and shot Jordan in the back. Jordan wheeled around and drew his pistol, but was met by another load, which struck him in the bowels. He fell to the ground and then fired at the negroes, striking one in the forehead, but the ball glanced off without doing injury. A later report from Electric, states that the old negro and one son were killed by a mob of masked men.
