- STRANGE ATTACK ON NEGRO'S HOME DILL McGEE is POSSIBLY FATALLY WOUNDED - CORNERSTONE OF Y. M. C. A. BUILDING TO BE LAID WITH CEREMONY. Tuscaloosa. April 1.-(Special.)- News has reached the city of a bold attack upon the home of DIII McGee, a negro living near Hughes' MIII, some little distance from town. As a result McGee's house was considerably shot up, and he himself was shot and perhaps fatally wounded. A posse is out on the trail of the parties who were in the attack, though as yet none of them have been apprehended. DIII was a well-known negro, and the attack on his home has aroused some indignation among the neighbors. At a meeting of the board of directors of the Young Men's Christian association. held Monday night, whose handsome new building is now la course of construction, it was decided that the formal exercises in laying the cornerstone will be held on April 13, in the afternoon. The Grand Lodge of Masons, at the directors' request, will lay the stone, and It is expected that Governor Comer will be present and make an address. The sad news has reached here that Felix B. Sullivant, a Tuscaloosa county boy, who was in the United 'States army, died a few days ago at San Francisco. Mr. Sullivant's family still lives in the county and are well known. He himself had many friends here, and the news of death comes as a painful shock.
