The State of Alabama, Elmore County
To any ordained or licensed Minister of the Gospel, Judge of the Circuit or Probate Court, or Justice of the Peace for said County- Greeting:
You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Rites of Matrimony between Rufus Jackson Swindall, c., and Miss Lizzie Ross, c., and this shall be your sufficient authority for so doing.
Given under my hand and seal, this 14th day of September, A.D. 1894. (Two illegible words here) (L.S.) Judge of Probate
The State of Alabama, Elmore County Know all men by these presents, that we, Rufus Jackson Swindall and AL Swindall are held and firmly bound unto the State of Alabama in the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, to the which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 14th day of Sept. 1894 (Two illegible words here) Judge of the Probate Court, AL Swindall State of Alabama Elmore County personally appeared before AL Swindall who (illegible word here) sworn says that Rufus Jackson Swindall is over the age of 21 years.
