- Three months ago four negroes were lynched at Wetumpka, Ala., for the murder of a white farmer and his wife. A fifth, supposed to be concerned in the crime, escaped. Recently he was caught and three citizens started to take him to jail. Later they reported he had escaped from them, but his mutilated body was found soon afterward in a stream.
