Negro Who Died in Jail, Is Buried in Alabama, WETUMPKA, Ala. Nov. 27, (UPI) -- James Earl Motley., a 27-year-old Negro who died, mysteriously in the county jail, last weekend. was buried today., The county coroner, the, sheriff, the Federal Bureau of, Investigation and the state patrol have been investigating the, death, but have refused by re-, lease any information, including an autopsy report., Mr. Motley, known as, "Bronco," was arrested on, charges of being drunk, resisting arrest and interfering with, police officers. His companions, say they were stopped by an, Elmore County deputy while, driving from Montgomery to, Wetumpka., They protested, they said,, and the deputy radioed for, help., Two state troopers drove up,, the Negroes say, and held Mr., Motley while the deputy beat, him.
