- Joe Moseley, a negro, was shot and killed and his body placed on the Alabama Great Southern railroad track near Woodstock, in Bibb County, late Saturday night, and a passaenger train came along and literally cut the body to shreds. It seems that the Meridian accommodation train was a little late and passed Woodstock about 11 o'clock. The engineer noticed that the engine had struck something on the track but did not see anything. He stopped the train and investigating found a pair of bloody overalls on the engine. Probing futher into the mystery he found bloody flesh on the tracks and on some of the wheels to the cars of the train. The section gang was notified and the body of the negro was picked up and put in a wheelbarrow. The coroner of the county was notified and yesterday came to the conclusion, so it is understood that Moseley was shot first and killed and his body laid on the track about 20 minutes before the arrival of the passenger train. Why the negro should have been killed in such a manner could not be ascertained.
