Saturday an outrage was attempted on the person fo a lady near Montevallo, by a negro. He attacked her in open daylight on the public highway, and pursued her into her house. She screamed, and to frighten her into submission he fired off his pistol and broke up her furniture. She continued to screamed and help came before he accomplished his design. He fled and up to latest news had not been caught. Catch him and hang him, burn him or shoot him, and rush into eternity the soul that would make hell blush with its blackness of crime.
