- Alex Hill was captured by Constable J. McNelson, A.S. Latham, a foreman on the Kansas City, Memphis and Birmingham railroad, and A. H. Pate. Alex said Hubbard wanted him to do work instead of pay him back the money. He was sitting out on the porch and went to get the plow point to hit him in the head. He said Will Hill was innocent and unjustly hung.
