- William Hill, brother of Alexander Hill, was captured near McCulley's Mill early June 6. His bnrother killed Hester Hubbard. Will's head was shot into a shapeless mass. He and ALex went to the house to kill and rob Mrs. Hubbard, because he Husband was meant to be away on business and they have lots of money. He did not not wish to pray before being killed. The mob hung him from a limb, but cut him down before he was dea. They then tied him to the tree and fired a volley into his head. A crowd is still searching for Alex Hill. There was a race war threatening.
