- A black man was lynched near Woodstock after attempting to rape a white women. Four men were arrested for participating in the mob by the Sheriff. Judge Miller called a special term of the Bibb Circuit Court in investigate. They made the man stand on a stump and then shot him to death. There were thirty - fifty in the mob.
