- The KKK revived and created violent activities in the Souht, like lynchings. 64 in 1918, and 83 in 1919. Race riots went on for weeks all over the country. President Woodrow Wilson blamed white people for starting race riots and tried to introduce efforts for racial harmony. He created voluntary organizations and congressional legislation. Marked the start of African Americans fight for their rights in the face of oppression and injustice.
