On March 13, 1919, Cicero Cage, 19 years old, was lynched in Ralph, Alabama, by a mob of white men from the Parks Mill neighborhood after being accused of pulling a young Caucasian female from the neighborhood off her horse. Cicero (Roy) Cage lived in Etwah county his whole life and was the son of Sam and Blachea Cage as well as the older brother to Girtrude, Lela, Lemon, Mittie, and Mat Cage. After Cicero Cage’s lynching, his father fought for justice and accountability for Cicero’s death, but the mob
