Two negroes, arrested for killing Thomas C. Perry, of Hale county, one of whom confessed the crime, were sent, with several others, under a guard of three men, for safe-keeping at Marion. On the way they were met by a band of men armed and masked, who took these negroes from the guard and carried them off. What became of them is not known.
