JUDGE LYNCH'S WORK. The Vicims of Mobs—How the Colored Man Has Suffered. Judge Lynch has executed during the year 175 victims, a large increase over last year, of whom 139 were in the South, as compared with 144 in 1888, 123 in 1887, 133 in 1886, and 181 in 1885. The lynchings in the various States and Territories were as follows: Alabama, 7; Arkansas, 8; California, 1; Georgia, 11; Indiana, 3; Iowa, 1; Kansas, 6; Kentucky, 6; Louisiana, 8; Maryland, 1; Michigan, 1; Mississippi, 20; Missouri, 8; Nebraska, 9; North Carolina, 4; South Carolina, 12; Tennessee, 8; Texas, 14; Virginia, 7; West Virginia, 6; Wisconsin, 1; Montana, 3; New Mexico, 3; Washington, 1; Wyoming, 14; Indian Territory, 7. Of this number 3 were women, 80 were whites, and 95 blacks. Of the 95 blacks 92 were lynched in the South. These are recorded cases. How many unrecorded victims have been lynched in that section will never be known. The detailed list is as follows:
