On November 11,1881, Bill Thomas, age unknown, was nearly lynched in Tuscaloosa. While attending a circus, Bill had a verbal altercation with a white man and was shot several times. He was taken to the city jail, where he contracted pneumonia and died. Bill Thomas lived in Hale County, Alabama.
