NEGRO LYNCHED- Brute Who Assaulted a White Woman Meets Fate at Hands of Citizens. Montgomery, Ala., Oct. 12.-Grant Richardson, a negro, of Bibb county, was lynched last night near Centerville by an angry mob of white residents of the county. He was being brought to the Bibb county jail on a charge of assaulting a white woman when the deputy having him in charge was overpowered and the negro's body riddled with bullets. According to advices received late this afternoon the negro was charged with attempting criminal assault yesterday afternoon upon a white woman near Breahead, whose name could not be learned. Deputy Sheriff Cal Riley, who was quickly dispatched to the scene, succeeded in making the arrest of Richardson and was proceeding with him to Centerville when he was over taken by a mob. The negro was torn from the protection of the deputy, tied to a-tree sad riddled with bullets.
