Rufus J. Reid, Haney's predecessor, was also indicted in several cases for accepting bribes, one from Ed. I. Morgan, and it is a certain fact that Ed. I Morgan is the only party indicted for giving a bribe. Now read the oath of the Grand Jury, and say what you think of it. Was "true presentment made of all indictable offenses which came to their knowledge"? Was "no person presented from envy, hatred or malice"? Was "any person left unpresented from fear, affection or reward or the hope thereof"? "Let us have peace."
